Development of an Adherence to Anticoagulant Therapy Scale: A Validity and Reliability Study

Purpose: Anticoagulants are an important group of drugs used by many patients with different diseases. There general adherence scales that measure to treatment in the literature. However, correct use drug alone is not sufficient for warfarin therapy. To develop Anticoagulant Therapy Adherence Scale on
 and examine psycholinguistic psychometric properties.
 Methods: The research was a methodological consisted 170 patients. validity scale tested using content validity, explanatory confirmatory
 factor analysis. reliability examined utilizing item-total scale
 correlations Cronbach’s alpha.
 Results: After items were created, opinions received from twenty
 experts indexes found be above 0.80. In explanatory
 analysis, 3-factor structure loads between 0.30 0.81 was
 obtained. Fit indices obtained confirmatory analysis as follows: χ2 =
 181.116, df = 116 χ2/df value 1.561, Root Mean Square Error Approximation
 (RMSEA) 0.058, Comparative Index (CFI): 0.88 Goodness (GFI):
 0.88. Item-total correlation coefficients range 0.57 and
 0.25. Cronbach's alpha coefficient 0.74 overall 0.63, 0.77 0.65 its subscales.
 Conclusions: ATAS valid reliable measurement tool Turkish population. can healthcare professionals evaluate patients' standard way.
